In December GOP Debate regarding how America should handle Iran:
Sounds like Romney would put Bibi First and America Second and that is very disturbing to me.
Romney is letting the world know that he will take his orders from Netanyahu rather than from the people of the United States. That bothers me.
Romney accuses President Obama of having a "foreign" Foreign Policy as Romney admits he would actually take orders from a foreign leader, Bibi Netanyahu.
Not only is it chilling that a U.S. President would be a puppet for a foreign leader, it is absurd that Mitt picked Netanyahu to be his Puppet-Master as Netanyahu claims he barely knows Mitt Romney.
Bibi Netanyahu told Vanity Fair
~Bibi Netanyahu, July 2012 in Vanity Fair Interview, (middle of Page 4)
So, Netanyahu "supposes" he knows Mitt Romney - yet Mitt Romney is telling the world that Netanyahu will be his Puppet-Master and he (Mitt) will put Netanyahu First and America Second.
Romney lacks good judgement and is inept at processing real information. You see, as Netanyahu is saying he barely knows Romney -- Romney 'thinks' his scant direct dealing with Netanyahu make them BFFs.

Fred Kaplan has what I think is the best take so far on Romneyshambles:
The American capitalists-turned-statesmen of an earlier generationDouglas Dillon, Averell Harriman, Robert Lovett, John McCloy, Dean Acheson, Paul Nitzetook risks, built institutions, helped rebuild postwar Europe, befriended their foreign counterparts: in short, they cultivated an internationalist sensibility at their core. Whatever you think of their politics or Cold War policies generally (and there is much to criticize), financiers formed an American political elite in that era because finance (through the Marshall Plan, the World Bank, the IMF, and so forth) was so often the vehicle of American expansionism.
By contrast, private-equity firms, such as Bain Capital, where Romney made his fortune, tend to view their client companies as cash cows, susceptible to cookie-cutter formulas from which the firms partners reap lavish fees, almost regardless of the outcome. Their ends and means breed an insularity, a sense of entitlement, a disposition to view all the worlds entities through a single prism and to appraise them along a single scale.
I would only add that the bankers of yore operated by building relationships; Bain made its investors money in large part by breaking relationships, e.g. by walking away from implicit promises to workers. Its not a style that makes for good diplomacy.

...real puppet-master speaks:
Former Vice President Dick Cheney said in a Sunday-aired interview that John McCain made a mistake by selecting Sarah Palin as his running mate in 2008.
Speaking to ABC in an interview that was excerpted on This Week, Cheney called Palin an attractive candidate but said, I dont think she passed that test of being ready to take over. And so I think that was a mistake.
To date, McCain stands by his decision to pick Palin.

Or, I wonder if they'd try to add him to the SCOTUS.
Either one is frightening.

(62,325 posts)claim to be able to control the US Congress, and it sure looks like he does when visits the Capital Bldg and gets a standing ovation from both parties.
I guess Romney is taking his cues from Congress.
Time to find leaders who put people like Netanyahu is his proper place, but I don't see too many of them in DC on either side.
Romney seems to be vying for the approval of a man who should be shunned by Congress for his war-mongering and far right wing dangerous policies. I guess of Netanyahu wants another war, Romney is letting him know that he can use the US Military if he should be elected.

(602 posts)Romney is accomplishing three goals with his trip to Israel:
1) He is covertly promising the Republican Base more WAR, which is sure to get them all very excited
2) He is sucking up to the extreme right in Israel, lips firmly sealed to anal sphincters, while he holds his hands out for more money
3) He is fullfilling his obligation to Sheldon Adelson, the multi-billionaire donor who is on record stating that his primary allegience is to Israel
Mitt is just saying what Sheldon Adelson has paid him to say, and as president, Mitt will do what Sheldon Adelson and the other big donors (investors in Romney's presidency) tell him to do. Mitt's loyalties are to the almighty buck, and to whoever gives him the most of those, period.

(12,882 posts)What the FUCK do we owe Israel??? I mean - besides them being another outlet for our military hardware makers - which purchases actually COME from our own coffers!
It's not like we don't already POUR funds on that obstinate outpost that could be used for SO MANY things here at home. I don't understand - I really don't.
