Another refinery blows, kills 39, hurts more. Where are the safety

systems? People smelled gas for hours before the blowout.

Are they just letting these systems be destoried to offset the drop in demand?

Something is wrong in the most profitable industry have no spill control, no pipeline exposure warning systems, no cleanup systems.............

Seems like the only money they spend is to lobby for derulation no matter what country.

And the refinery is already owned by PDVSA, the Venezuelan national oil company.

Maybe if they quit subsidizing the gasoline, which is contributing to global climate change, and started charging the true cost of providing a safe refinery system, this would not have happened.

If the headline was "Another Circumcised Penis Explodes, Kills 39 Pubic Hairs" then it would be an active topic. But people are killed because of humanity's addiction to petroleum products? Meh, B.F.D.!

It will be interesting to see if they have been spending the necessary amounts for maintenance and training.
