hope you already bought your gas for next week

cause with the hurricane strengthening and heading toward the platforms and refineries in LA/MS/TX region, petrol is already up $.10 this morning...and will likely continue to climb. remember : any excuse to make a dollar.

I'm just north of Seattle. I'm leaving later this week to drive to Sacramento CA. I drive down there every year for Labor Day weekend. I know gas is high, but if I want the kind of trip I'm taking, I'll just have to pay it. I enjoy the drive down there -- a chance to be alone for a while (I have 3 other people living here and it can get busy), listen to a book on CD, take in the scenery, stop at every antique shop I want to. I like to eat at locally-owned cafes, not fast food places. In general, I take my time. It's about 770 miles and I'll stop overnight somewhere whenever I feel like it. I don't feel bad about it because most the rest of the time, my car sits practically unused. I put $20 of gas in every six weeks.
