This election is about ignorance and racism.

There is no way in hell a white American trying to make ends meet would vote for Romney, unless they are completely unable to understand what's in front of their faces, or racist, or both. I just can't fathom why they'd vote for a man who refuses to provide information on his finances and business history, refuses to answer legitimate questions about his positions, and refuses to provide details on how he would govern as president otherwise.

Chris Mathews was right; I don't always like the guy but he at least told the truth this morning. How sad it is.

The media has basically brainwashed a significant portion of the population into believing that it is Democrats that spend all of the money, and that it is Republicans that are fiscally responsible. History shows that to be categorically false, but a lot of people believe it nevertheless.

It's extremely frustrating to see people wallow in ignorance and make patently false claims about Obama and Democrats, in general, and you can't even get them to see reason even when presenting them with facts.

instead of just assuming they are racists or idiots?

They probably will not give you what you think is a good answer, but probably neither would they like your answer as to why you are voting for Obama.

Try this. Make up two lists of top 3.

Top 3 reasons to vote FOR Obama
1
2
3

Top 3 reasons to vote AGAINST Romney
1
2
3

A few think Obama was born in Kenya and isn't an American; one person doesn't use his name or call him president, just calls him that black man occupying the white house. I live in Texas, and am sometimes dumbfounded by the responses.

As far as not using his name, I was not willing to say that Bush was President. In the hospital after surgery in 2005, they asked me "who is President of the United States" and I said "I think it is Al Gore" The nurse laughed at that. I would be damned if I was gonna answer that with "George W. Bush".

I don't think that made me ignorant. Hateful, maybe, but not ignorant.
