The problem with conventions:

Who really watches? Every year, the number of ways news is disseminated grows. Even since 2008, there are more ways for people to find out about what is going on.

The MSM covers these conventions as if there are still only 3 channels and everybody will be watching. Right now, the people who watch are the choir listening to the message they want to hear.

There is such a bombardment of ads, news, faux news and other political messages that many people duck and let it sail over their heads. Maybe sliming in a sewer under their feet is a better way to put it.

People tune in and out. This election has certainly not been one to keep one awake. In 2008, Palin and the Hillary vs Obama guaranteed that more attention would be paid.

There is still a lot of time for something to happen and shake up the narrative. They better be ready to handle it.
