After all the moaning a groaning about how lackluster, unfocused, or just plain angry the RNC speeches were last night -- particularly Queen Ann's and Chris Christie's -- the news I'm watching this morning is calling the speeches "BLOCKBUSTERS!"
Even Eugene Robinson, which surprises me. He's not usually a friend of these guys, although he does admit that Christie "didn't exactly say very much."
I think they're in Rehab Mode for the GOP after the monumental failure of last night.
Of course, Paul Ryan will speak tonight...I believe they plan on having him enter the arena walking across a large pool of water, and by tomorrow they'll be renaming airports for him. We'll see.

(42,748 posts)Let's face it. We're not objective observers of the repub convention (whether or not the media is presents a separate question). We will like the Democratic Convention and give it high marks, and the repubs will claim it was a failure. We do the same thing over here with their convention.
Not a criticism, just an observation.

(20,166 posts)But I have to say, I'm usually a curmudgeon about the Democratic conventions as well and probably won't be watching most of it this year as usual (I do want to see O'Malley, who is my Gov, and I'll probably watch Obama's speech, but not much else).
