‘Honey Boo Boo’ beats GOP in cable ratings

"The fourth episode of TLC‘s “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” a show that makes “Jersey Shore” look like “Masterpiece Classic,” drew more viewers in the 18-49 age group on Wednesday night than the second full night of the Republican National Convention.

According to the overnight ratings, “Honey Boo Boo” pulled a 1.3 overall rating, according to Nielsen, with 2.9 million viewers. The show also topped every other cable offering Wednesday night, including cable news channels covering the GOP convention.

What that tells me is either that “Honey Boo Boo” is heavily favored by Democratic viewers, or that Republicans are more interested in watching a pudgy child make her stomach folds “talk” than listening to vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan discuss why the GOP team is a better choice than Obama.

“Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” is a spin-off of TLC’s “Toddlers & Tiaras.”

Republican party would watch it instead of their own convention. They know how they'll vote so they think they don't need to watch.

and I agree.

I think it happens to be one of the most amusing shows currently on TV... it's like watching a train wreck unfold (I'm really bummed that they got rid of "Glitzy" the pig ).

Seriously.

Given the constant barrage, beliefs and claims here that the deep South =
Republican/Conservative racist, hicks.

I could easily see the more "sophisticated/enlightened/educated" Democratic/Liberal viewers
tuning in just to justify/reaffirm their beliefs, and chortle at the crude, unrefined, inbred,
back-water, Southern bumpkins.

Crude, "uncivilized", toilet humor and behavior is not the domain or signature of any one political party.

between the two different packs of pudgy inbreds, except that Honey Boo Boo is cuter and makes more sense than the Republicans do.

(no, I've only seen the promos and life is too short for either of them to attract much of my attention. I will watch Rmoney with the sound off, though)

but what else was on?

Had never seen it before, I did feel bad for Glitzy the piglet, grimaced at the forklift foot, and wanted to take a shower after the muddin' event.

How could that convention compare to the above?

Anyone that enters and subjects their children to agents and putting makeup on children that young and making them go thru what they do is exploitation and child abuse.
