No, wait! ...and so it goes.It seems the President of the United States and Commander in Chief of its armed forces cannot remember how he first learned of the WTC attacks...
I was sitting outside the classroom...waiting to go in...and I saw an airplane hit the tower...the TV was obviously on...I used to fly myself and I said 'There's one terrible pilot.

However, a misspeak like this should be the basis of proving how incompetent they were.

(28,498 posts)He was either speaking before an audience or in an interview for a documentary and he was giving his account of how he learned about the WTC attacks. Hardly a "misspoke."
Maybe our crack media reporters will ask him which one is "real?" Maybe he'd like to set the record straight? I doubt it.

(28,498 posts)Watch the video! I even noted the time his statement appears.
ASK HIM what he meant when he said he was waiting to go into the classroom and the television was "obviously on." ASK HIM about the TV! I don't know if it was CCTV or not; I wasn't there. But HE was and HE made the statement.
That was only a few months after the attacks. Then he changes his story for the National Geographic interview.
These aren't "gaffs" uttered in the heat-of-the-moment on some contrive news talkshow. These are statements for history...and they don't jive!
Why?

(2,421 posts)I have always wondered why he wasn't called out on this. Did he watch it on T.V., did he get word from an aide while reading My Pet Goat to an elementary school class or did he come up with that great one liner about the pilot's skills? They can't all be true and lying about something like this is just plain creepy.
