If you hear/read anyone saying "ATTACK LIBYA ATTACK WHAARGARBLE!1!1!", kindly remind them that...

...our military is fucked right now. Over-deployed and shredded, lacking good NCOs and special operators because they are either committed elsewhere or dead. If you're going to rattle a saber, if you're going to draw that saber, it better goddam well be sharp. Right now, ours is a butter knife (with the exception of the Air Force and Navy, both of which aren't much use in a situation like this).

That's what eleven years of war and razing cities in reaction to small groups of psychos will get you. That's what a decade of urban combat will get you.

When they blink and sputter, you'll know you've made your point.

It was done by outlaws, against the best efforts of the Libyan government to prevent harm to diplomatic personnel.

We should stand ready to aassist the Libyan government, certainly, but have no ground for reprisal against it at present.
