The Best The Republicans Had To Offer

We all knew, from the beginning, that Romney was a sad, little man who shouldn't have anything to do with politics. His positions on issues are, to the extent that they can be discerned, not good for the nation. That's because his ability to understand the majority of the nation is deeply lacking. Not that we didn't already, but now we know his ability to understand the world is also deeply lacking, and that point is being hammered home the the nation and world with great enthusiasm.

Two points:

Republicans elected him to run against Obama.

He was their best choice to run for president.

Draw what conclusions you will from that.

It's not Limbaugh
It's not the Tea Party
It's certainly not the religious right
It's not the NRA
It's not the NASCAR fan
It's not the military

IT IS THE 1%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

because they need them to get elected. I am sure that the 1% does not worry much about romney's pandering to the base since they know who's side he is really on.

Just go down the list: there wasn't a qualified candidate among them, with the lone exception of Jon Huntsman, and the Teabaggers wouldn't give him the time of day.

And now the GOPers are stuck betting that Obama will get beat by the guy who couldn't beat the guy who couldn't beat Obama last time!

and he was clearly the best GOP candidate. Lucky for us--at least presidentially speaking--he was much too sane a candidate for teabilly asshat base. I think we dodged a bullet there.

Romney was the one that they nominated, and he best expresses Republican views. The fact that he's fucked up so many times and so badly shows that the Republican party is so badly fucked up!

My thoughts turned to him as well on reading this OP. I agree that he was their best candidate, the best they had to offer. Had he won the nomination, pre-election polls would be looking much different. John blamed PACs for his poor showing in the primaries. Perhaps they did our side a favor this season.

That the Republicans had a limited lifespan, maybe 10-20 years...
Then the Tea Party and Mitt/Ryan showed up...

This is like watching Monty-Python's skit on upper class twit of the year, as directed by the crew of Red Dawn...

I keep thinking that the latest gaffe of the GOP is when they hit bottom...

But they keep digging!

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]One of the rethugs actually said some months ago that (I'm paraphrasing here) they don't need or want a "leader," just a compliant warm body to sign the legislation the GOP puts in front of him.

Rmoney is NOT their "best." Rmoney is just a compliant vulture capitalist, who will do as his plutocratic masters instruct. Period.

name was Jon Huntsman. He would have been a formidable candidate against the President. And you saw what happened to him. The rest was a collection of troglodytic mouth-breathers, duck-fuckers, greedheads, and evolutionary throwbacks. The republican party sounds like what Tchaikovsky would have written if he'd decided to compose Goat Lake.
