A Wing-Nut Friend of Mine Posted this on Facebook

?40 Days of Prayer for the Nation begins Friday, Sept. 28.

I've really had it with this crap. Now she's invoking God and Prayer for her "side". I try to tell her that this is the United States of America not the United States of Christ. She doesn't get it. What I don't think these people understand is that there are many religions in this country and not everyone believes the way they do. Please stop forcing your religion on the rest of us. I could care less. Can we go back to the time in this country when religious nuts didn't force their beliefs on us??

Sorry - just had to vent a little.

A plane goes down and someone survives "because God was watching out" for him/her. Never a peep about what kind of an major asshole deity would either cause the plane to go down in the first place or sit back and let it happen. And those really are the only choices IF you buy into the omnipotent/omniscient thing, which of course these people do.

There were these little papers all over the formerly sane and Democratic suburban town I used to live in... That if one voted for Gore, since he supported women being able to choose on pregnancy, they'd all go to hell. Then the righties took over the churches and the place went straight Dark Ages... Oh, yeah, a lot of people moved.

"Dear God, if you love this land one-tenth as much as your followers claim you do, make Mitt lose real bad. Shrink all his magic underwear. Get his car elevator stuck between floors. Serve his dancing horse to needy French families, let the IRS disallow all his deductions and have the SEC force him to buy back the high risk CDOs he sold to rape America's business might. Let his wife find out what an asshole he is and motivate her to dump his worthless ass. If you care about the world you made, let Mitt spend his remaining days alone, penniless and friendless, making tacos for minimum wage before walking home in the rain to a rented studio in a 30-story walk-up."

Then step back and watch the fun. With any luck, she'll be too busy stockpiling food and water to get out and vote.

With Catholics due to Romney and Ryan's attitude...

Poll: Obama surges ahead among Catholic voters

http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/on-faith/poll-obama-surges-ahead-among-catholic-voters/2012/09/26/8115e118-081a-11e2-9eea-333857f6a7bd_story.html

And post on her Wall this video by Chuck Colson:

Paul Ryan, Ayn Rand, and the Church of Satan

This video presents some of Charles Colson's critique of Ayn Rand's ideas, together with footage and quotes from Paul Ryan, Ayn Rand, Church of Satan founder Anton LaVey, and others.

Ask her to answer that. Her friends will look at it... If they claim to be Christians, they should be familiar with Chuck Colson. Let that be your vent at them...

On June 17, Obama held a slight edge over Mitt Romney among Catholics (49-47 percent), according to the Pew Research Center. Since then, Obama has surged ahead, and now leads 54-39 percent, according to a Pew poll conducted on Sept. 16.

There are still sane Catholics out there... just not in my diocese...

as the gap widens. In 2008, during the last few weeks before the election, I was constantly getting frantic e-mails from my RW relatives. Among them were ones that claimed that anyone voting for Obama was actually accepting the Mark described in the Revelation - and those who did so could just forget about going to heaven. You watch, we're going to hear much crazier shit before this is over.
