Consultant Compares Akins Resolve To That Of David Koresh
A consultant for Rep. Todd Akin compared his resolve in the Missouri Senate race in the wake of several controversial statements to that of cult leader David Koresh, whose standoff with federal agents in Waco, Texas, in 1993 resulted in the death of Koresh and 81 others, including 28 children, reports the St. Louis Post Dispatch:
Conway's comments were first reported by Right Wing Watch.

"Ive expressed this to Todd as my client for a while now, Ive expressed it to him directly, conservative consultant Kellyanne Conway said today on a radio show with Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council. The first day or two where it was like the Waco with the David Koresh situation where theyre trying to smoke him out with the SWAT teams and the helicopters and the bad Nancy Sinatra records. Then here comes day two and you realize the guys not coming out of the bunker. Listen, Todd has shown his principle to the voters."

(16,230 posts)2. You have to realize
that Akin's base doesn't see Koresh as suicidal. In their (deluded) minds they see him as a hero who was murdered by the government.
