This would be funny if it wasn't so tragic. A GOP volunteer in Clay County Fl makes a call, a answering machine answers. The volunteer doesn't hang up, but evidently makes a 2nd call on another line. The answering machine picks up the entire pitch.

"The call was made as part of a statewide phone bank for Romney’s campaign being conducted by the Clay County GOP. The volunteer, who was not identified, did not hang up before moving onto her next call.

Her pitch to the next person was picked up on the first person’s answering machine.

“I don’t know if you have done any research on Obama or not, but he is a Muslim,” the woman said during the roughly 90-second call.

Leslie Dougher, head of the Clay GOP, said the party does not support the volunteer’s statements."

This would certainly be a wonderful segment on Ed, Rachels or Lawrence's show.

5. The Republican Party made a Deal With The Devil after 1964 & now The Devil wants his due

The 1964 Civil Rights Act sent the racist bigots in exodus from the Democratic Party.
The Republican Party desperate for a reliable voting block welcomed in those racist bigots.
That was the beginning of the end for the Republican Party.
They made a Deal With The Devil in securing that dubious voting block & although they got success in the short term, they would always have to pay the Devil back in the long term.

Now decades later The Devil wants his due.
Scared old White people putting their bigotry on front & center display.
Embarrassing & shaming more thoughtful White people who would rather not be associated with that uneducated image.
And definitely alienating non-Whites who are used to hearing this bigoted ignorance.

This dooms the Republican Party each year that comes next.
They don't have a majority anymore. It's now a shrinking plurality & one day will be a minority.

Word late this afternoon was that the "volunteer" was given a talking to and told not to do this anymore. Really? I suspect that the volunteer was just told to be more careful on the phone.
