Guy gets out of his car, stumbles a ways down a sandy, grassy hill puts something to his head and falls over.

That's all that can be seen.

When Bud Dwyer blew his brains out for the TV news cameras it was right in front of them, close-up detail and everything.

I don't advocate seeking out particularly violent acts and televising them, but I don't anybody censoring a reported event.

That said, car chases draw viewership. From an economic standpoint, car chases ARE worthy of live television coverage.


...and, besides, if you can't stand to see a wide shot of somebody running out of a car, putting his hand to his head and falling over, you probably should stick to the Cartoon Network.
