Joel Gilbert made "Dreams from my Real Father," the very bizarre anti-Obama fake-u-mentary. The film is so scurrilous and distasteful that it has received little mainstream notice. So the film-maker has a plan to force the film to be a national story by mailing out literally millions of discs to households in swing states.
To date, he purports to have mailed out one million DVDs in Ohio (which has 4.5 million households) and one hundred thousand to New Hampshire, and is sending them out to florida and other swing areas.
This guy's last documentary claimed to be deathbed tapes of George Harrison explaining how Paul McCartney really did die in 1966 and was a replaced by an impostor who continues to be McCartney to this day. He has made a couple of Liberals-will-destroy-Israel type documentaries and a lot of movies about Bod Dylan.
Who is funding him? We are talking about a few million dollars here, and he talks like there is no limit to his ability to press and mail millions of these things.
So who is funding hm? He declines to say in interviews.
This may be a story where unless Romney was funding it out of his own pocket it is best to let it go... making the thing a national story, even as an expose or Republican horribleness, seems to be just what the backers want.
But I would like to at least know which of the half-ass Bond villains who fund our discourse is this far gone. (Who funded the Swiftboat movie distribution?)

(53,876 posts)I'm betting the same funding sources are responsible for the anti-Muslim film as well. And although it's not a national story, there were anti-Muslim ads recently that ran in the NYC subways that called Muslims savages. I wonder about that funding as well, the timing of all of these things just before the election.

(12,029 posts)... but the corporate money behind it is what needs to be investigated. At least a million dollars has to be involved. Does it lead back to the Romney campaign? Inquiring minds want to know.
