What's the point of lowering tax rates...

just to do away with exemptions and deductions? Don't you end up paying at best the same and at worst more?

I would have loved to hear our President ask romney that.

..and on top of that, Romney kept claiming that the end result would be more jobs. I think Obama should have pressed him to elaborate on that plan.

Lower the tax rate by a few percentage points but take away exemptions. How does that make any sense at all?

YOU GET A TAX CUT!!

...some unspecified deductions may be eliminated
...we may not actually eliminate any deductions and will just starve the government into spending cuts
