He comes out a 'winner' because he made it through the obstacle course without killing himself, but don't you think he's gonna have a metric assload of lumps tomorrow when he has to explain all the mile-an-hour- cockamamie bullshit he spat out tonight?
It takes tremendous self-discipline (and a true vision) to do what Obama did tonight. Bite his tongue, grimace a bit, land a punch here and there. But it's the long game. The fun starts tomorrow. Have some trust in the man.
And yes, he watched Romney tear through that backyard while eating a sandwich.

It is as it always is, f'in media failing to report the real story. In a real media they'd report that Obama's supposed "doubling" of the deficit actually isn't anywhere close, that Romney-Ryan do plan to voucherize Medicare (and that Obama didn't raid it), and that Mitt's tax plan is actually a $5 trillion boondoggle aimed at taxing everyone else for the benefit of the already-rich.
Our media, though? His self-assured posturing is clearly more important than the actual words coming out of his lie hole. Nauseating.

(1,173 posts)Already the spot about the tax cut lie. Nice call.
My own view is that Obama was probably shocked by Mitt's utter failure to say anything even remotely true. It's impossible to debate when some lying blowhard just cuts you off and lies constantly, and that must be difficult to prepare for ... especially when it's so unheard-of in presidential politics. I'm betting Obama's team preps him differently next time around, and when Mitt starts inventing stuff Obama will be much more armed with responses as opposed to dismissive smirks (which, don't get me wrong, Mitt is deserving of, but eventually responses are necessary to counter the BS).
