Big Bird is not happy today.

Don't mess with the Big Bird. Big Bird will unscrew your head and shit down your neck.

Glass and ceramic things that keep the electricity off the wooden poles and such.
People grabbing (stealing) them must take precautions to avoid electrocution.

he loved going to garage sales and he just bought every damn thing he saw - AS LONG AS he could dicker with them. If you were selling something for a quarter he'd offer a dime. If you wouldn't come down he went on to the next garage sale. I doubt he cared about 95% of what he bought - he just loved the haggling.

My wife was perpetually vexed by his shopping as he would come home with his weekend haul and call her up to come get most of it. "I got you this muffin tin. Come get it"... "Dad, I don't need or want a muffin tin" ..."It only cost a nickle!"..."I don't care dad, I don't need one - I still have the last 5 you gave me and I don't use them!"

"WELL FINE!"

He thought those insulators would be worth money some day but we checked...they aren't. At least, not the ones he got for 50 cents at garage sales.

He was a funny old man and sometimes I miss him.

was hunted by helicopters by ranchers before protective laws were passed. Stills wrote this about it in the '70s - "this country is insane anymore, that's for sure"
