Obama has let Mittens own it. No chance to get out of it in front of 50,000,000 people. No chance to weasel.
He owns it.
Pretty smart I say

(2,391 posts)He was planning to weasel out of it as we just learned with his new Faux interview. Let it fester. It's not going away.

(15,189 posts)Rmoney just said on Shit Hannity show that he was wrong about the 47%. So if Obama would have brought it up last night, Rmoney may have said the same thing. But WE all know he would say it again in the "right" setting. He would say that and worse. I hope there is another Rmoney moment of him being himself on video.
I think Rmoney's name should be Me2 Rmoney. He likes teachers, parts of Obamacare, likes tax cuts for all, like job creation. This Etch A Sketch is getting really fuzzy.

(234 posts)if O had brought it up it would have been R$'s chance to weep with sorrow over his inelegant words in front of 70M people and grandstand about his undying love for all creatures great and small...

(25,487 posts)But you go ahead and tout it. Every time the video is shown, Romney drops another point in the polls.
Even the polls you wingnuts accept, like Rasmussen.

(20,317 posts)It's on tape. It's pissed people off in the extreme. Bringing it up should've been a no-brainer.
Even if Romney had a nice, pre-rehearsed excuse, he would've only come off as a huge liar.

(64 posts)My retired mother, an Independent leaning Democrat, said she was glad Obama didn't stoop to Mitt's level just to score a couple of cheap points with the 47% bull.
I agree with her...it's already an albatross around his neck...so what if he went to Faux News to beg forgiveness! It is him, on a tape, telling millionaires half the country mooches off of the government!

(3,784 posts)One thing I've learned as a trial attorney is this: if a witness makes a damning statement that destroys his entire credibility and/or case, you don't give him/her the chance to correct it or take it back or explain it away. You let it fester in the jury's ears.
This is what Obama did by NOT bringing up those things. Do you REALLY think there are people out there who haven't heard about the 47% comments? Why give him a chance to explain it away? If you ask me, NOT mentioning it is the smartest thing Obama could have done.
