Most, if not all, of us disliked her because she was so rightie. She might be red, but I'm trying to figure out from her debate performance whether she's blue or just a woman being polite to Obama because he is the President of the US, as all reporters should be.
At any rate, I like her a lot now. C'mon over to msnbc, Sweetie....gotta get you away from that really red Erin O'Brien...
Come to think of it, Martha Raddatz seemed a bit bluish in her treatment of that irascible Joe Biden.
We can't complain about the media in both cases.

(89,264 posts)she would get the large audiencec that she got. it could break her career . at least with Jim Lehrer he already had a positive reputation so this one debate did not hurt him. but for Crowley it would hurt her. she didn't want the criticism Lehrer got.
i also think Candy Crowley might be representative of many moderate Republican women. Romney's bs answer to things like equal pay turn them off. they are republicans but not social conservatives. she also probably felt the hostility of Romney against her . as bad as Bush was he seemed to get along with everyone and didn't have a problem with strong womem. so i can see why she might like Bush but not Romney.
as for the Bengazi thing and transcript. it was Romney who pushed and forced that issue.

(13,620 posts)It could have just been good research on her part because of the stink over the administration taking 14 days to call it terrorism. I knew that wasn't exactly right. They weren't trying to play it as just a violent protest gone wrong like Republicans were saying. Still, I would have had to check just what he said and when. In her position that doesn't seem unlikely. She would have expected the issue to come up.
It could be she got a heads up from the administration or someone close to take a good look at that video beforehand. Then again maybe that was common knowledge among journalists that it was a phony issue and why. They just hadn't called any high profile Republicans on it yet.

(89,264 posts)she knew and picked which audience members to call on and what their questions would be. so i'm sure she read up on issues related to the question.
Romney is the one who failed here. relying on right wing blogs for foreign policy ? how fucked up is that. and this guy is running for president on a major party ticket.

(3,526 posts)Yes, CC did well as the mod of the second debate, but no, I'm not going to apologize for my opinion of her previous 25 years of biased reporting.

(11,464 posts)So that is why she instantly knew. Stupid she is not.
However, when she slants a story, she is 99.999% not on our side in the past.
and just because she did her homework this time, it means it upped her value in her industry
however, that doesn't mean she moved to our side or likes our President any more than the day before.
(she might like Mitt less, have no idea.)
But she is a reporter first, talking head second. Wish some of the others would be the same.
(meaning she didn't shill for Mitt, or hide a TRUE fact.)

(16,854 posts)then she spit in the face of anybody to the left of Raygun every chance she got.
She has some amends to make and that was a good start. I would love to see her on MSNBC or Current TV.
