Is there a way to read Mother Jones online without getting a subscription?

The page always comes up with a subscription page blocking it and I cannot get it to go away. I'm to the point that I won't even look at Mother Jones anymore.

Why don't they just advertise like the rest of the fucking internet?

I just went to MotherJones.com with no problem. When I clicked on a story I simply hit the 'skip this ad' and the article came up...maybe it's your browser?????

3. My tool bar is too big. I downloaded a couple coupon sites and they added stuff to my tool bar

and now I can't get them off. So I can't see the top and bottom of the advertisement. I keep trying to delete or make the tool bar smaller but I'm having a problem with it. If you know of any ways to do that I'd be real grateful if you'd share them with me. Then again maybe I should just Google it!

4. What browser are you using?

Those can be dis-abled through internet options. Assuming you have Internet Explorer... Go to 'Tools' (in the upper left hand corner), and then select 'Internet Options' (at the bottom of the panel. Go to the 'Programs" tab and then select 'Manage add-ons'. From here you can enable or disable any add-ons to the browser.

If you are using a different browser, let me know what it is and we can try to get you fixed up.

5. Thanks so much! I am using Firefox and I just looked it up and went through all this

stuff about pulling up the "customize" page and trying to drag the icons that I didn't want to the page and then to the top window and all they did was open up when I tried to drag them. Even when I was able to click "Hide" some of them they didn't even hide but that was not Firefox I think it was that stupid Social Search that got on me that I can't get off.

6. Try going to your control panel and check the add/remove programs list.

There might be something in there that can be removed that will solve your problem. I've had tool bars added that I don't want when downloading a program..they can be removed.

for anything resembling coupons or social or anything that might be in there that is still causing this to still happen. I think I'm going to go into the Firefox tools and lurk around a bit and see and maybe check with the Firefox forums.

but then I've no real cause to go there. I prefer news to opinion.

edit add - after a while pop ups start appearing offering subscription. Even more reason to ignore them.
