What should the US do about Syria

I have been hearing a lot of 'buzz' about Syria among the talking heads in Washington these days. Syria is a horrific humanitarian disaster, but what can the US do?

Personally, I can't see an upside in either supporting a dictator, or supporting a rebel force that has been infiltrated by salafists... I don't see a good way of supporting a populace in what has become a clusterfrak.

So, with the upcoming foreign policy debate, what should America do?

Would make all policy decisions in the ME much easier.

But who wants to walk to work?
