State of Florida Changes Medicaid HMO with no notification to the detriment of Medicaid clients...

Medicaid switch leaves hundreds of patients in St. Johns County without providers

A St. Augustine cancer patient on Medicaid arrived at a local medical facility last week for her regular chemotherapy appointment but was told she’d been switched without notice from a Medicaid HMO called MediPass to a new Medicaid HMO called StayWell.

Unfortunately for her, the medical facility didn’t accept StayWell. (snip)

Hundreds of Medicaid beneficiaries in St. Johns County are suddenly without access to medical coverage because the state Agency for Health Care Administration — which oversees Medicaid — failed to inform patients it was changing their HMOs.

Also, they failed to give patients any list of providers that accept StayWell.

They also failed to notify providers. Michele E. Manor, St. Johns County Health and Human Services team leader, was told by the Agency for Health Care Administration "we are not required to inform you."

The start of the real Death Panels...under a Republican governor and a Republican controlled legislature!

How evil can Scott and the Republicans get? I don't think we've even scratched the surface on how inhumane Republicans(all of them) really are...

are turning my state into. They don't care anything that doesn't make them money.
They don't care about the people, they don't care about the environment. And what's worse
is they seem in a case like this to have actively gone out of their way to hurt people.

What a vile party. How can decent people associate themselves with this party?
