The face of the guy who pulled the trigger was crazy stupid when he admitted it. "Wuz I wrong?"

Sheesh. They left Arbery no choice but to fight for his life.

I shudder to think what would have happened if they had proof of calling for a citizen's arrest. I don't think I would have stopped running even then.

It came as a followup to the Fugitive Slave Act, giving (white) people the right to detain those who they suspected of being escaped slaves.

Apparently the WNGRAs* of the world are trying to build on that and give (white) people the right to detain, and if necessary kill, (black) people who they suspect of committing crimes. I doubt there are many black people who would dispute that and if any said they did dispute it I would suspect them of being on somebody's payroll.

*WNGRA = white nationalist gun rights advocates

Yes, it is a bit redundant, but imo, for low info folks it reinforces the meme. Plus visually invokes 'Right Wing' in folks minds.

Great post. Thank You.

It's scary that without the record they left or created themselves, nothing would have happened.

Even with the obviousness of guilt, even with the exceptional performance of the prosecution and the bordering-on-silly defense ... the jury of 12 has one black member. One.

I can't believe there will be justice for Ahmaud Arbery until I see these murderers actually physically go to jail.

it would be good to see a guilty verdict, but honestly, I don't see it happening.

But I did catch the prosecutor giving her closing. I am convinced they escalated the events time and time again. Aubrey had no reason to talk to any of them and they had no right to continue the pursuit or even stop him in the first place.
