1. Hold a vote no matter what

Let them go on record voting against it. That’s one reason McConnell would never let anything go to a vote.

4. If BBB had goodies their constituents wanted, then yes

But I doubt anyone knows what was in the bill to begin with, or even now

There was no mass campaign to get that message out there so that GOP reps would feel pressured...

It’s our fault that we didn’t educate them on the bill. It’s our fault that they didn’t look out for their constituents and see what was best for them and vote in their people’s best interests.

More self flagellation.

6. Yes, you make a good point

There should have been mass media campaigning when the bill had wage increase, paid leave, even hearing aids (!) stuff like that. Who wouldn't want to know the details of that?

10. Right. It's novel to expect the media to do their jobs.

The media has turned everything into a discussion and debate on some of the dumbest things and generating huge revenue on it. Putting out information on boring details of a plan to better Americans lives doesn’t generate that same interest.

8. The "liberal" press was always focused on presidential power and the approval ratings.

Whatever was moving the needle was worthy of publishing. But the contents of BBB were the details that the press viewed as too boring for their customers to read or hear.

In other words, there is no "liberal press." It's as phony a frame as "MAGA."

Divert it to the most emergent issue in BBB and take it to the people.

they could lean on any retiring GOP senators who don't have to fear the wrath of the orange king.

in every (legal) way possible to woo even one Republican...didn't imagine. Seriously. That'd be like someone just assuming roofers don't nail shingles on because he didn't see any nails as he walked by.

There are people whose main job is to know and study the senators and their states for what they'll do and opportunities to affect their choices. They work for people whose job is to create and use every advantage.

17. If that would happen

Joe Biden would be the greatest president in my lifetime.

The message sent that "we can still govern", despite the absolute whackjobs the Retrumplican Party is presenting as "serious" leaders and politicians these days, would be earth shaking.

It might finally break that fever President Obama worked to break.

I am not holding my breath.
