Conservative columnist: Benghazi is a good thing because it makes Obama look bad

Conservative columnist Diana West appeared on Frank Gaffney’s radio program once again this week to discuss the Obama administration’s response to the Benghazi attack. West said that the attack was a “fortunate event” because it is “grabbing people’s attention so that we can understand what’s wrong with the American ‘Arab Spring’ policy that Obama has been executing,” giving Mitt Romney an opportunity to criticize Obama’s “lies” and policies “supporting jihad, Muslim Brotherhood actors.”

West: As you and I have discussed, I strongly feel that Benghazi is almost in a strange way a fortunate event. Not obviously having to do with any of the actual killing and destruction and harm it’s done to our country, but in the sense of grabbing people’s attention so that we can understand what’s wrong with the American ‘Arab Spring’ policy that Obama has been executing. In a sense that’s what I would have wanted in a Republican nominee to use Benghazi as a teaching school, taking it down the line, whether it’s presidential lies, administration lies, whether it’s security failure and whether it’s sort of the über-theme, the failure of supporting jihad, Muslim Brotherhood actors across the Middle East and how it comes back to bite you every time.

Gaffney: Yes, you have written brilliantly about this.

They don't care about the country, they don't care about people, they care about power and money.

Why in the world would anyone be telegraphing their investigation into this matter. This is being handled and there is not any need to tell where they are looking and information they have found. Again, lack of foreign experience is apparent when the walkie-talkies are talking.

and I honestly believe they would literally jump up and down with glee if a 9/11 scale terrorist attack happened in this country during President Obama's term. I can easily see them grinning and gloating while they say, "It's Obama's fault! It's the Democrats' fault! Hahahahaha!". They hate the President and the Democratic Party much more than they care about the country and their fellow citizens.

Diana West is far from alone. I think many Republicans feel this way.

West: As you and I have discussed, I strongly feel that 911 Benghazi is almost in a strange way a fortunate event all except for that invading the wrong country as pay-back thing. Not obviously having to do with any of the actual killing and destruction and harm it’s done to our country, but in the sense of grabbing people’s attention so that we can understand what’s wrong with the American ‘Arab Spring’ neo-con policy that Obama Bush had been executing and you, apparently wish to return. In a sense that’s what I would have wanted in a Republican Democratic nominee to use Benghazi as a teaching school, taking it down the line, whether it’s presidential lies, administration lies, whether it’s security failure and whether it’s sort of the über-theme, the failure of supporting jihad, Muslim Brotherhood Multi-national actors across the Middle East and how it comes back to bite you every time.
