What the hell happen to the separation of church and state?!!

Why is it that no one ever challenges these guys who stand up proudly and say "my faith informs my decisions as a public servant" (I'm paraphrasing)? We should all be outraged! I certainly am. We are a country comprised of multiple religions and public servants need to work for us all!

These kinds of statements should disqualify these freaks from holding office! All these folks ready to send a women to jail for having an abortion call themselves "Christians". It's appalling. The nerve of these people to hijack our democracy in the name of their religion.

Rant over....

rest of us and it sickens me. They want to rule and take away our rights and in their minds once they subjugate or kill us, Jeebus will come back and everything will be fine and dandy. But you see they have to kill or destroy our rights first.

and if Rmoney wins, I have the strong feeling you will see a log more religion being mixed/offsetting our democracy.

They are a complete mockery of what they say they are, they are destroying the Constitution. I wonder about this humorous Thom Hartmann piece, the right is so deep into double speak:

Proof that Bush & Republicans have gone to the Dark Side with the Devil stars.

Copied and pasted from the Baptist Faith and Message of the Southern Baptist Church, Section XVII - Religious Liberty.

This is the denomination I was raised in. Separation of church and state used to be a key doctrine.

Every time I hear a loudmouth teabagger Baptist say that separation of church and state isn't in the constitution, I remind them that it *is* in the Baptist Faith and Message.

My idea is that these two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death.

GOP is basing this all on religion and religious freedom. But that freedom is eclipsed by the constitution that prevents your religious freedom and views from being imposed on mine. It's such a simple ands winning concept. Why Democrats do not highlight this more is baffling to me.

& let there be no dreams of questioning my Dem credentials: Besides generational Dem, I have voted for all Dems of every stripe despite my preference in primaries and I defend CARTER in other areas. But besides that he had a nest of vipers at his breast (Pat CADDELL; the co-founder of the Carlyle Group; Tweety who has just rehabbed out of viperhood), it was he who carried the Bible around and generally rode the Fundie revival.

I highly doubt it will happen but if these nutballs somehow captured the WH, House, and Senate, then packed the court with 2 more right wing fundies,we would then spend at least a generation in the Dark Ages Part 2.
