She should boycott that crap program with four ReTHUGs to one Democratic Party rep week after week.

(30,676 posts)he's on record saying he needed to preserve access to certain people so desperately that he would never ask them something on air they wouldn't want to answer. What kind of journalism is that?
Russert wasn't the hero some think he was. He was a bigger tool to the MIC than Gregory. And Gregory says he doesn't think it's his role to question someone in power once they make their statement. Russert started that kind of powder puff journalism at NBC news.
But strangely, the soft and soupy approach was just for Republicans in power. Tim was just the opposite on liberals and the Clinton camp. Always a tough bulldog nailing them on every detail! I suppose that's where he got his reputation of being such a great interviewer. By helping the Repubs impeach Clinton. It sure got him better ratings.
Russert wasn't fair and he was only marginally interested in facts. Not a journalist, a tool in my opinion, for the defense hegemony.
But sorry, welcome to DU and sorry to burst your bubble about Russert. Look him up on Media Matters for America if you want the real scoop on that tool and NBC.

A lousy hack for the in crowd and now we are all blessed with his Damian progeny the Little Luke, totally devoid of any critical thinking or even an original thought - he is still wearing pampers which he continues to mess every time he opens his pie hole
We will never be rid of the Russert legacy and those fucking tools like Gregory
Major Hogwash
(17,656 posts)I used to watch that program back in the early 90's when Tim wasn't so obvious in his support for the Republicans.
But, by 1998, it was more than obvious that Tim was a pig.
He looked like a pig, acted like a pig, and he probably smelled like a pig.
When Bush got in to the White House, Tim couldn't suck up to them fast enough.
I remember when he bragged about going to Rumsfeld's Christmas party where he was told-- before the general public found out -- that they had just captured Saddam Hussein.
He acted like that was the biggest thrill of his life.
However, if Tim were still the moderator for MTP today, he would be questioning President Obama's foreign policy in Afghanistan.
He would be criticitizing President Obama for killing Osama bin Laden, rather than putting him on a show trial.
And he would also suggest that Osama bin Laden may even still be alive since Tim didn't get to see the body of Osama bin Laden after he was killed.
Yes, Tim was a tool for the rightwing MIC propaganda machine in this country.
No doubt about it.
And so is David Gregory!
He is just as much of a rightwing warpig as Tim ever was.

(14,040 posts)Also, I don't think she wants to be one of those people that are known for interrupting... though I wish she would. Whatever she's doing, she's doing it right because she gets great ratings, and she is now the captain of the MSNBC ship... which must really bother Chris.

(18,791 posts)She didn't sound like herself on this show...not like she does on her own. We figure that there
is mostly a script and they only get to say so much for so long...and the Dem gets the short end of the deal.
Can't STAND Tool Gregory.
justiceischeap
(14,040 posts)and let's face it, she's not used to interacting, on TV anyway, with Repubs cause none will come on her show.
And Gregory may interrupt her because he's afraid she'll take over. If I were him and she were booked regularly, I'd be worried for my job. NBC may see what MSNBC see's and he could find himself out of a job.
