Andrew Sullivan: Romney ‘like an alien that ripped off his mask’ at debate

GOP strategist Nicole Wallace on Sunday said that it was not a problem that Republican nominee Mitt Romney was “like an alien that ripped off his mask” when he seemed to change positions during the presidential debates because “we liked him better.”

During an ABC News panel on Sunday, The Daily Beast’s Andrew Sullivan noted that Romney had presented himself as a “brand new candidate” at the debates.

“The Mitt Romney that showed up on Oct. 3 was like an alien that ripped off his mask and said, ‘I’m brand new now,’” Sullivan pointed out.

“But we liked him!” Wallace exclaimed. “Isn’t that the point? But we liked him better!”

“He has evolutionary ideology like the church has revolving doctrine,” Sullivan continued. “One day it’s true, the last day it’s not.”

That NBC program actually is biased against Democrats. Today was an example. They interviewed Kasich of Ohio. Then, when they bring on the Democratic governor of Colorado, instead of giving him a solo interview as they did with Kasich, they had Walker of Wisconsin on with him. Then, Carly Fiorina spouted off nonsense and Gregory did not interrupt her. However, he did cut one of Rachael Maddow's responses short. This should not be a close race. What is the logic of this Romney momentum just because he won one debate on style by contradicting every thing he said previously? Obama clearly won the next 2 debates and Biden won his debate with Ryan. Anyone who says otherwise (like calling the last debate a draw) is not being objective. I fear for the future of the middle class if Romney-Ryan takes office.
