Firefly’ creator Joss Whedon endorses Romney’s vision for a ‘zombie apocalypse’
In a sarcastic endorsement of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney published on Sunday, sci-fi mastermind and Firefly creator Joss Whedon hails the former Massachusetts governor for putting forward a plan to finally put this country back back on the path to the zombie apocalypse.
I dont pretend to see the future, Whedon says. No one knows for sure if theyll be the super fast 28 Days Later zombies, or the old school shambling kind. But theyll be out there, and theyll need brains.
He continues: So, whether youre a small business man just trying to keep his doors open; a single mom so concerned with her sons welfare that shell run to embrace him when hes clearly infected and going to bite her; or a strung out ex-military type whos been out there too long and is taking the same kind of damn fool chances thatll get us all killed you need ask yourself, Am I ready
for the purity and courage of Mitt Romneys apocalyptic vision?
Mitts ready, Whedon concludes. Hes not afraid to face a ravening, grasping horde of subhumans, because thats how he sees poor people already. Lets all embrace the future, stop pretending we care about each other and start hoarding canned goods, because if Mitt takes office, sooner or later, the zombies will come for all of us.
