The Bronx Zoo had a 1963 exhibition called "The Most Dangerous Animal in the World."

It was a mirror:

On June 8, 1963, the Illustrated London News ran the following story about an exhibition at the gorilla house at The Bronx Zoo in New York City. The exhibit told visitors:

“You are looking at the most dangerous animal in the world. It alone of all the animals that ever lived can exterminate (and has) entire species of animals. Now it has the power to wipe out all life on earth.”

We are constantly told to not even bother making changes to our society and to the world around us.

Even in our own circles, we are told "don't bother"

But with danger comes possibility.

Maybe it's time to drop the "don't bother" act.

There's a whole book on the man, Ota Benga, who was lured away from Africa in his teens by tales of seeing the world with this white guy, but the white guy brought him to New York and put him in the zoo, in the monkey cage.

Here's the NYT book review: https://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/07/books/review/spectacle-the-astonishing-life-of-ota-benga-by-pamela-newkirk.html
