Pence is no hero - He was just playing for time

Stevens is right. Anyone with a brain and a sense of integrity would not have needed to go ask Dan Quayle if it would be ok for his to steal the election. It was obvious that Trump lost. Pence knew he was off his rocker. But he waited to see which way the wind was blowing before taking his “heroic” stand. The man is an empty shell of a human being.

3. IMO, Pence was part of a deal with the conservative christian right...

they back the Pig, say the Pig is a christian, the Pig puts Pence on the ticket. Meaning Pence could run after the Pig's "two" terms. Better yet the Pig drops dead and the fundies have their man in the WH.

Unfortunately, the Pig blew it despite trying to overthrow the election. Now Pence is trying to salvage the consequences of the soured deal no matter what.

Certainly doesn't seem to get that the Pig has smeared him, sold him out and tried to have him offed.

No, he's not a hero for doing his damned job. Just like Cheney isn't a hero for doing hers and serving on the J6 committee. But that's how low we've sunk. The expectation is that people won't do their jobs so that when they do them, everyone thinks it's heroic.
