TV alert: Anna Deavere Smith's "Let Me Down Easy" on PBS Great Performances

Anna Deavere Smith has made a theatrical career of interviewing real people, famous and unknown, on a given topic and putting together a one-woman show in which she portrays all the people in their own words.

This particular program focuses on the body, health, and death and segues from athletes (including Lance Armstrong) to hospital patients (including Ann Richards and film critic Joel Siegel) to doctors (including a doctor who was stranded at New Orleans Charity Hospital during Hurricane Katrina) and those who work with the dying. There's a lot of material that has to do with social justice.

If this program hasn't been shown in your area yet, be sure to catch it.
