Christie ihas a real chance to save the GOP and rip it back from these god pandering...

knuckle ragging, bigoted ass holes.

I don't agree with the GOP's approach to governing, but this standing in the middle of the room and acting like a spoiled child is not helpful to the country, to their party and to our way of life.

Until they are purged from the goverment, they will leave a huge stain on this, OUR country.

They have been acting like jack booted thugs since Newt took over the house in 92 and 94. It would be nice to have an opposition party that we could come to agreement with instead of throwing a tantrum and kicking and screaming on the floor yelling it's my way or no way....

It's not impossible for two party's to come to agreement on issues. It's been done before. I hope this forces the mainstream GOP'ers to look in the mirror and say enough is enough.

As we have seen for much too long, they don't dare cross party lines.

But, if Christie continues to act like a bona-fide leader, he will see multiple other routes open up for national office, even the office of the Presidency.

5. When I was younger, there were times that I voted for some republicans.

This was at a time when there was a semblance of sanity in their ranks and there were republicans like John Heinz in public life.

In fact, I think he was the last republican I voted for. With Bill Clinton's election in 1992, they began a collective temper tantrum that hasn't stopped in 20 years. Hopefully the faction that is now the teabaggers will be purged and maybe we can come back to a time of 2 parties that disagree with each other but will work civilly together for the common good.

Maybe I'll win both the Powerball and the Megamillions tomorrow, too.

PEACE!

But my parents did and they were prettty sane people...

They do have some issues that merit talking about, there is room for compromise. This crap about my way or the highway approach is just tearing this country apart. And they just don't care...

I don't see it happening again soon though.

If President Obama wins on Tuesday, I expect that the teabaggers will take absolute command. I only see sanity returning to the republican party after a landslice loss of an avowed teabagger presidential candidate, like if they'd nominated that little shit little ricky santorum this year. I detest little ricky even more than I do willard.

PEACE!

8. I can't stand his abrasive manner

But now i will give him some credit.

It will take a real visionary on the GOP side to get our political climate back to "pre 2008 Fox News" levels.

I think this man understands that. I think he knows that "grass roots" Conservatives will grow weary of steadily losing because of their leadership's "no compromise" philosophy. I think he understands that mainstream America percieves the GOP House as obstructionist (see their "lower than BP oil spill" approval rating).

This embracing of President Obama was a stroke of political genius. It immediately presents him as a viable 2016 candidate if for any other reason than that he is one of the very few prominent GOP leaders willing to discard politics long enough to work for the common good of his constituents. It immediatley distances himself from the nutcase wing of the GOP and puts him squarely into a percieved "Moderateville". Something Mitt has frantically tried to "etch a sketch" his way into ever since he clinched the GOP nomination.

Christie takes positions I could never agree to as a voter, but I must also consider how close a pathological nutcase like Romney currently is to the Presidency and imagine a man with a half of a lick of sense in his stead. A percieved "icebreaker" could easily make up that 4% that Romney lacks from taking the Presidency. The big question is how deep would he dive to the right to secure a nomination while leaving enough latitude to present "core values" acceptable in a general election. This is where Mitt failed miserably.

Considering the fore mentioned argument, I would put Christie in as the front runner for 2016. Images of him working with a black Democratic President in a time of epic natural disastor will have long lasting effect on a general election.

I still would not vote for him. I am too far to the left of Christie.

Crisis aside. Christie is part of the problem not the solution. I am talking about his beliefs, not his running of the storm relief.
