"By the Time I Get To 270"

By the time I get to 100
she'll be lying
The real notes she'll let fall to the floor
She'll laugh when she reads the part that says I'm leading
Though I've proved that girl wrong so many times before

By the time I get to 200 she'll be smirking
She'll chat with Sarah Palin and give Rove a call
But she'll just hear that phone keep on ringing
Karl tore it off the wall that's all

By the time I get to 270 the California polls have yet to close
Her voice will will crack as she tries to announce it
As she realizes she's never seen past her nose
But by tomorrow morning she'll have regained her glow
Because she knows she can blame it all on Mitt

She has run the most vicious, slanderous campaign I've ever seen in 50 years of following politics.

but I'm pretty sure MN will pick up at least a couple of House seats on Tuesday. Plus, if the polling's wrong, there's still a chance for Bachmann to lose, too. I'm pulling for that result.

For me, in Minnesota, the high probability that Democrats will retake both houses of the state legislator is the very best news I could get. If they do that, and the marriage amendment fails to pass, I expect the legislature to pass a same-sex marriage bill, which will be signed by Governor Dayton and my LGBT friends here will be able to marry soon.

Obama's got a lock on this election, I'm sure. Good news to come on Wednesday, I believe.

Never having been to MN, WTF is up with Bachmann's district. Everyone I've ever known from MN is embarrassed of her how does she keep winning, is this place St. Cloud really CrazyTunes Of The Apocalypse Ville or what. She is just so bizarre, such an SNL skit, it is hard to believe she could even win once!

mostly in the 1980s, and ended up with a very conservative population. St. Cloud, much of Anoka County, and areas like Stillwater in Washington County grew with lots of McMansions and expensive homes, and attracted a conservative group of new residents. Demographics in her district are very, very different from the Twin Cities themselves. Another example is the district currently represented by John Kline. More expensive homes and higher income residents in that district, too. Whiter, as well, I have to add.

I haven't looked at the polling in Kline's district, but CD6 is still showing a small Republican margin. Unless the polls are wrong, that district will probably go to Bachmann.

Note: I just checked CD2, and John Kline is leading by about a +8 margin. I doubt the DFL candidate has much of a chance.

Anyhow, it's all down to the demographics in those districts. White flight, more or less.
