but this idea than democratic voters just "want stuff" has, I dare say, radicalized him. He's really insulted! Today he came upstairs with a chart showing where the debt came from (the same one Steve Bennen and others have published many times) and demanded to know whether or not I was aware of the fact that the majority of US debt was incurred under Bush?! And did I know that Obamacare will actually lower the deficit?!
He voted for Obama both times, and generally hates to talk politics, but, post election, he's actually more pissed off than he was before.
He's a small business owner who has worked his butt off, an actual "job creator" who has about 5 employees, but he said to me, if they don't get off this idea that I'm a lazy ass who just wants handouts, they are going to lose an entire segment of the population permanently.
I just smiled and expressed my sympathy. And thought to myself "keep it up assholes!"

(11,243 posts)I am a small business owner, also with about five full timers plus a mess of part timers. The idea that I am lazy and looking for a handout just because I am an O supporter is insane! I support O and dems in general because I can do basic math, and as a result see who is passing legislation that helps my business (thanks Obamacare!) and who is actually stealing my money (not poor children on food stamps).
The lazy O supporters is the one RW meme that I saw push back against over and over from moderate, polite dems on FB this election season. Over and over I saw "I don't usually make political posts but, um, I really don't like being called lazy because I voted for Obama. So please don't say that." These are people who NEVER post anything controversial or political. But clearly they were very hurt.
