'Next Bush' makes campaign filing in Texas

DALLAS (AP) —

George P. Bush, a nephew of former President George W. Bush and son of one-time Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, has made a campaign filing in Texas that is required of candidates planning to run for state office, an official said Thursday night.

The younger Bush, a Fort Worth resident, filed a campaign treasurer appointment Wednesday, a requirement for someone to become a candidate under campaign finance law, Tim Sorrells, general counsel for the Texas Ethics Commission, told The Associated Press.

Sorrells said the report does not specify what office Bush might seek, if any, and he had no other details on the filing, which wasn't available online. Bush did not immediately reply to an email seeking comment, and no phone listing for him could be found.

The 36-year-old said in September his goal was to run for office and acknowledged that he had his eyes on several statewide offices.

"Bush also has Navy service on his resume, including a six-month deployment to Afghanistan, where, for security purposes, he was given a different name. Not even those he was serving alongside knew he was a Bush."

As for National office? By the time that becomes a possibility he is going to have A LOT of competition without the name that carries complete baggage!

I've known for over 10 years that this was the Bush to watch out for. He has an appealing pedigree, is very charming, good looking, and has been being groomed for this for some time. His interest in politics has been there for awhile and will definitely carry on the Bush dynasty in politics. Yes, this is the one to watch out for.

I hope the Dems are grooming somebody too.

Now that I think about it, Latinos are not so stupid as to fall for a candidate because he speaks Spanish and has a Mexican mom. They want good policies that go far beyond immigration. Republicans just do not offer that.

Because he was having a hissy fit about getting caught breaking into her house.

George P. Bush might be a hunkalicious young Republican, but he still seems a bit creepy. So TSG wasn't too surprised to learn that "P" was involved ina troubling 1994 incident described in this Metro-Dade Police Department report. On December 31, 1994, Bushs howed up at 4 AM at the Miami home of a former girlfriend. He proceeded to break into the house via the woman's bedroom window, and then began arguing with his ex's father. Bush, then a Rice University student, soon fled the scene. But he returned 20 minutes later to drive his Ford Explorer across the home's front lawn, leaving wide swaths of burned grass in his wake. Young Bush avoided arrest when the victims declined to press charges.

If he builds a good enough record in Texas that may be enough for him to have his own record to run on. I could definitely see him appealing to latinos in Texas just like Jeb did with Cubans in Florida. He is latino and embraces it from what I read. Having said that I am much more optimistic about Julian Castro. I don't think Julian will run for president four years from now, but i hope he is selected as VP. I think after serving as VP he will want to run for the top spot on his own and will be completely qualified.

I just heard Mourning Joey pimping for Jebbie...saying he's already cranking up the 2016 machine. Didn't someone bother to show these douchenozzles that a majority of the voters blamed dubya for the financial messes we're still struggling with. I heard one rushpublican "pundit" call dubya the "Hoover of the 21st century"...and the family name is still political poison even inside the rushpublican coven.
