Florida's Gigantic Ballot: Was this on purpose?

So the actual ballots in Miami-Dade were these gigantic booklets packed with all kinds of amendments to vote on.

Pretty obvious that this would add substantially to the amount of time for each voter to vote (probably even if they were to skip voting on the amendments), and it's REALLY obvious that it adds substantially to the time for tallying the vote. So much so that it's half a week after the election without a result.

Who was responsible for making the ballot like this, when the result would be fairly obvious? Was it the SoS or legislature who put all this stuff on there? When were the amendments added on?

If on purpose, was the goal simply to

-depress turnout from big city ethnic voters just getting discouraged waiting

-specifically cause a situation where the state wouldn't be counted or called on election night?

-both/other?

by the teabagger legislature that could have easily passed all those laws and had the governor sign them. They just wanted to hold up the lines.

The entire state had at least 3 pages of Amendments. That was such crap!! And none of them passed!

And she said that the ballot was so big because it also consisted of 3 languages, English, Spanish and Creole.

coupled with the skinned down EV hours/days..

The ONLY solution for FL is for the SAME voter turn out as on 11-6 to show up in '14 and oust the republicans from their own statehouse..

ballot will be junked up. The rich have easy access to absentee ballots and free time to vote during "early voting" periods. The working poor travel to work, then work, and travel home M-F from 7am to 7pm. The only time off they get to vote is on the first Tuesday of November. So, junking up the ballot creates waiting times of many hours. That makes voting impossible for many of the WORKING poor. The tactic is best defeated by remembering this: If the GOP legislature wants something passed, you as a DEM don't. Just vote NO on all amendments.

10. Yes. The republican legislature there wanted to mess up the election and give the state to Romney.

They failed on the second goal, but succeeded on the first. Now, the voters of Florida must vote those bastards out of power in 2014, along with Rick Scott.

holeeey sheeeit look at that thing!

you'd have to be blind to think this was "just a coincidence," "a mere unfortunate confluence of events," and "happenstance at its most inconvenient."

oh my gawd, look at it! ah ha ha! look they're trying to steal it through a veritable avalanche of paperwork...

... and no one had to give a shit this time! AH HA HA HA HA HA!

seriously, for fuck's sake, vote for a hardcore lefty who cares about your voting for FL Sec of State already.

these past 12 years have been way beyond any comedian's ability to satire, but that, that fucking BOOKLET is icing on the cake. REPUBLICANS ARE FLAPPING THEIR GENITALS IN YOUR FACE AS THEY STEAL YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE! change your Sec. of State already!

I think we should have a separate election for ballot measures just to streamline the federal, state, and local elections. Do the ballot initiatives a week later. Eight pages of shit is pretty ridiculous, but that's how the system currently works.

Yes, I think the long ballot was on purpose to slow down the voting process.
