Supreme Court to review Voting Rights Act.

(Reuters) - The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to review a legal challenge to the Voting Rights Act, a landmark law adopted in 1965 to protect African-American voters who had faced decades of discrimination at the polls.

The high court accepted an appeal brought by Shelby County, Alabama, challenging a core provision of the act that requires nine states and several local governments with a history of bias to get federal permission to change their election procedures.

I was hoping Obama would have the chance to appoint at least one SC Justice before this came about.

It's time to do something about the Republican right on the Supreme Court and its meddling in our elections. We'd have clean elections if it wasn't for them.

We should draw the line from them to the massive sewage that flowed out of peoples' TVs during this election. Turn up the heat.

If they look at anything with regard to elections, they need to look at all the voter suppression tactics that have taken place and how the elections are managed in general in a very partisan.
