*THIS* is the kind of document that the Saudis would pay billions of dollars for.

Marcy Wheeler of EmptyWheel gives more highly informed speculation on what the reporting about the Trump/Bedminster recording might mean.

First, it’s certainly possible this is one of the documents pertaining to Iran that WaPo has reported were among the ones obtained in the search in August 2022.

If it is, then it would be a document that Trump transported back and forth from Florida — something that would make it easier for DOJ to charge this in DC instead of SDFL.

If it’s something DOJ didn’t obtain in the search, but also didn’t obtain among the documents Trump returned in either January or June 2022, then … then we have problems. If this is among the documents that DOJ thinks Trump didn’t return, then we have problems, especially given Jack Smith’s focus on Trump’s LIV golf deal, because this is the kind of document that the Saudis would pay billions of dollars for.

[...]

The document is, as CNN reports, evidence that Trump knew he had stolen classified documents.

Then her coffin is buried in a temporary-looking grave next to where the Saudis' fake golf tournament is being held a week later.

PS -- Ivana was pushed.

Buried my mom a couple years ago, her ashes were in a box that was 12 inches cubed, same as my sister two years prior. I have seen smaller containers for ashes of deceased. And they never weighed more than 10#, container and all.

The coffin was unbalanced because it was so ridiculously enormous and top heavy from its materials and design. I would guess from the looks of it that it outweighed Ivana by several hundred pounds.

The service also had too many ushers trying to carry something already unwieldy. When you have too many ushers, they aren't able to get stable enough handholds on the coffin, and can't take a normal stride to maintain better balance. They were having to shuffle along because they didn't want to ding another usher's legs. It hurts to take even a slight kick to the Achilles tendon, you know.

Physics--it works.

Also, a germophone like TFG wouldn't want the originals inside where a body is decaying. Have you ever been to an exhumation or when a long-dead corpse is removed from a coffin? It's gross. Really--really--gross. He also wouldn't want to draw attention to signs of the grave being tampered with. On a golf course where anyone could see it?

Come on.

IF he's stashing more documents, they aren't in there. He's the kind of grabby opportunist who wants "his" things where he can touch them himself, over and over, not buried with some corpse at a golf course.

As 2naSalit replied to me just above, the box for her mom’s ashes was 12 inches cubed and weighed no more than 10 pounds.

So, ExWho, there is a bit of a disconnect there regarding the disposal of the earthly remains of one Ivana Trump, who wanted to be cremated and whose remarkably large and heavy coffin ended up in a patchy bit of ground at one of her ex-husband’s golf courses. There’s also the matter of the still-to-be-located government docs.

So those of us who think exhumation would be appropriate under the circumstances of criminal investigation, do not expect there to be a body in the coffin, decaying or embalmed, just a box or urn of ashes.

I don't know how to perform surgery, but if a doctor cuts off someone's leg to treat an ear ache, I can say with confidence that it was a shitty decision.

The notion that experts are above critique and that only experts are permitted to have an opinion is a bourgeois fantasy.

. . . but there's video online of a private jet being loaded in Florida to fly Trump from Mar-A-Lago to Bedminster. VERY CLEARLY in the video are staffers loading document boxes onto the plane.

Why was Bedminister not searched?

It's bogus.

Even if you give some date as a starting point, ... a starting point of what? A miracle? A blinding light that instantly gave all seeing sight to you? ... and that you expect other people to just automatically accept.

Even if you name a date, so what? Something was supposed to instantly happen on that supposed date? You never explain. You never name the date and what was supposed to instantly happen then? I can imagine several things that might refer to, but it is bogus to think your schedule is known to everybody and they all bow down before it.

And so what if it is 28 or 20 or 7 or 302? How many months SHOULD it be? Should what be? Who knows? Your readers don't though they can imagine. Are you writing for your readers or for your own self?

Unspecified things are supposed to happen at your command at some unspecified time following some unspecified event and we are supposed to accept it as wisdom? It seems you don't want discussion because you don't explain or justify your accounting.

Well, repeatedly and frequently posting a bogus number of months does raise your post count rapidly. Easy peasy.

A former "president" selling national secrets and warplans from military generals (a war plan that I assume trump asked them to create, potentially for the sole benefit of Saudi Arabia).

And all of this after SA murdered an American citizen/journalist, not to mention 911, but I digress...

He literally sold us out. A true traitor in every sense, when you factor in J6, covid and everything else. He should be behind bars for the rest of his miserable life. A slap on the wrist will not suffice!

Because the crime of taking the documents that didn't belong to him happened there. Where he took them and what he did with them after that matter, of course, but none of that would have happened without the original theft of the docs in the first place.
