In response to a question, he said Sen. John Kerry (D-MA), a rumored candidate for Secretary of State, would be an "excellent" choice for the job. If Kerry vacates his seat, Brown would have the option of making another run for senator.
"We'll see what happens," Brown said.

(507 posts)who should have gotten the nomination instead of Coakley. He'd have been a good Senator and he's already run statewide during that nomination.
Though I'd like Duval Patrick to run for it because he's been elected governor twice.

(62,325 posts)Coakley, what makes you think he could do it this time? I'm not trying to be difficult, I would love him in the Senate, but airc, hardly anyone even knew he was in the race and the Party Leadership didn't seem to give him much support.

(67,112 posts)dem seat vacated well might end up R again. For example, look at what happened to Kansas when Governor Kathleen Sebelius left her governorship to become Secretary of Health and Human Services ... the KS gov. went even further RW. In fact, if any further RW, they'll have to fly a teabag as the state of KS flag.
