Nebraska part of secession push

http://www.omaha.com/article/20121113/NEWS/711149991/1685#nebraska-part-of-secession-push

By Paul Hammel

LINCOLN —After an election slugfest over debt reduction, a new effort has sprung up to draw attention to the issue — a push to secede more than 30 states, including Nebraska, from the Union.

Over the past couple of days, petitions have been filed on a suggestion board on the White House website to “peacefully grant” requests for the State of Nebraska and more than other 30 states to withdraw from the Union because of the federal government's “neglect” of the nation's spending.

Such suggestions on the “We the People” section of the web site work like this, according to the White House: if more than 25,000 signatures are received within 30 days, the petition will be reviewed by the Obama Administration and a response will be issued.

FULL story at link.

I read that article earlier and the disconnect is unreal and frightening. Obviously most people are rational even most Republicans however the internet tough guys who are ready to take up arms and defend whatever it is they think they are defending are loose cannons.

This state is going nuts. I live in a rural area, near gering, and I hear all the complaints about a "black" president. These idiots have no idea what would happen if they were not part of US. Ss would be gone maybe, Medicare would be gone, farm credit, farm insurance gone. This is an older community and has no idea how this would impact them.
The listen to fox noise only and believe it all, many are very prejudice, and call any improvement socialism. I give up. There is no reasoning with them. They would rather self destruct than agree with a Democratic president!

NOT the state.

NTV also reported this like the state of Nebraska was petitioning for secession.

You can read what some of the dumbasses are saying here.

To the credit of the community, some are pointing out how childish all this is.

And anybody can sign it. I'm sure somebody in a bunker somewhere will start one for all remaining states on the "Have Not Yet Filed" list. It's nonsense.

I have lived here the majority of my life! If those who want split form the US, go ahead! I bet there is an island some where in the middle of the Pacific or the Atlantic Oceans that will suit you fine? But don't call US when you need help!!!!!!! We may have political differences and not sure what the future has in store for us all, but I rather have someone who will fight for the middle class the split America from the rich and the poor! This people are just bunch of cowards and resents people who don't agree with them! I also served in th Army to protect all Americans and I am proud to have had the chance.
