Fulton County Judge compares Trump to Rumpelstiltskin

BREAKING: Judge overseeing the Fulton County special grand jury has *rejected* Donald Trump's bid to quash the special grand jury's report, to disqualify DA Fani Willis and prevent further prosecution.

McBurney's ruling is unsparing. He notes, glancingly, Trump has capitalized on his potential prosecutions despite claims that he's suffering harm from them. https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/23891541/2022-ex-000024-ex-parte-order-of-the-judge-1.pdf

What a footnote, right on the second page... #AlwaysReadTheFootnotes

"And for some, being the subject of a criminal investigation can, a la Rumpelstiltskin, be turned into golden political capital...."

This TFG motion from TFG was really weak. It asked to invalidate 40 years of law on special grand juries on the basis that TFG did not like this procedure. TFG did not have standing to attack this law and so there will be indictments coming down from Fanni Willis

Trump and his attorneys filled a motion Friday afternoon to have Fani Willis removed from the
case against him in Fulton County Friday Afternoon and 1st thing Monday morning the judge

That's all Trump is attempting to do, delay things in any way possible until after the election.

Reminds me of Netanyahu in Israel, delay delay delay until he can seize power again ad be immune from prosecution. And now he's taking away the courts ability to hold him accountable entirely.

"The drumbeat from the District Attorney has been neither partisan (in the political sense) nor personal, in marked and refreshing contrast to the stream of personal invective flowing from one of the movants."

In other words, Trump has a big mouth and has been using it improperly to intimidate and terrorize those trying to uphold the law and the constitution.

When all the cases have been adjudicated, he should then be charged with terrorist threats to add insult to injury.

I don't think this document addresses the most recent actions, which have led to a hearing scheduled on August 10, under a different judge.
