1. Not really sure keeping government open is rescuing him.

If he wants to pass the Senate bill, I think we should vote for it. If that counts as a rescue then yeah.

If you’re talking about rescuing his speakership from the idiots trying to take him out then no.

to back McCarthy in return for equal power sharing in committees.

Might not be a bad idea to use this situation to gain leverage in the House. But would he uphold his end of the bargain?

3. Not yet. Republicans need to make some concessions.

But I’m also not for keeping the government shut down for more than a week or so. Too many poor people are seriously harmed when benefit funds are missing, like poor mothers with no formula to feed their babies or military families going without pay while their families are worried about food and rent.

6. Rescuing McCarthy is necessary to rescue all those people who will otherwise lose their paychecks.

I don't like it, but it needs to be done. But, I think we must get concessions from him in return for preventing/ending the shutdown, including his support for the agreement he made earlier in the year with Biden.
I'm not at all optimistic McCarthy will do this, he hasn't got the courage. He's essentially a follower, not a leader. And he's more concerned about his hold on power than he is about the national interest in keeping the Government running.

I’d support rescuing him if, and only if, we were able to extract significant concessions from him. But there’s no way he does that. So practically I am a no.

I'd vote for whatever keeps the shutdown from happening. That's not the same as supporting that fucking asshole prick. He can go fuck himself on a telephone pole.

He's a spineless worm, but he can't get the real evil his party wants done.

Rather they implode than coalesce under someone like Scalise or Emmer, who will shut down everything for their Dominionist base.

Kevin is a deplorable and a liar. We wouldn't be here of he kept his word with the debt ceiling fight. I don't trust him to keep his word and I am tired of our side saving them, they get th credit and we somehow get the blame.
