It was a refugee movement. Colonial projects exist to extract resources from the colony for the Imperial power. What imperial power is Israel a colony of?

Nope… it was the result of Jews seeking refuge from centuries of pogroms, massacres, and systemic prejudice. Now some Jews have a land of their own and some actual power. Plenty of people HATE the idea of Jews having some measure of authority and power.

I won’t defend everything Israel has done. Some of it is not defensible.

But to call it “colonialist” betrays a position I think is not supportable, and attempts to cast a mantle on those Jews with an all-too-familar stench.
