In the wake of the Lewiston shooting, I'm sitting here renewing my ALICE certification. If you haven't
run across it before, it's proactive Violent Critical Incident training. In theory, I should be better equipped to lead students to safety, but I keep thinking about the people in Lewiston and how some of them tried and failed to subdue to shooter.
I will be writing to my legislators about enacting tougher gun laws. That will make me feel safer than throwing textbooks when faced with an AR-15.
