Or is that the same thing, really?
I frankly don't see the difference not shopping at WalMart and not shopping at Target or other big box stores. To me, they're all the same. Except that WM workers are protesting.
So I won't shop on Black Friday. In fact, I'm going to the movies on Friday. (Note to self: wear stretchy pants, to allow for weight gained from Thanksgiving!)
But what about Cyber Monday? I have my eye on a couple of necessities that I was going to wait and see if they went on sale on Cyber Monday. At Sam's Club.

targeting a smaller store in a market dominated by walmart wouldn't do anything except help walmart take more market share. walmart is the leader in screwing workers for profit; other competitors adapt to walmart's methods or die.

I have my eye on a gel-foam mattress topper for a rock hard guest bed. Also, a 2" 3-lb density memory foam topper (for my bed). Target doesn't have the gel foam ones. I'll check on the memory foam ones. But Target doesn't have a robust online business. Very few customer reviews. Last year the site barely worked at all (they've since fired that guy responsible for the website).

(53,410 posts)Can't say that I miss it. The season comes and goes and I manage to happily ignore it completely.
And if you want sales, go shop after Xmas when everyone is returning the gifts they don't want and the stores are desperate to get rid of the merchandise.
