When Don sLimus finally, seemingly permanently, crossed the final line of disgrace and was shitcanned and replaced by the Scabs, I rejoiced. Then the first 2-3 years I fumed along during the morning doze, often sending excoriating e-mails about the repulsive Scabs/BARNICLE/BUCHANAN, thinking they were actually wincing within minutes of my e-mail.
Then most of last year, I barely peeked in, just when somebody here alerted to something particularly outrageous happening. But mostly, they started repeating the first hour and otherwise grinding out the same tired voices and themes -- HALPERIN, BROKAW, and the campaign horse race.
So a few months ago, I surfed into sLimus by accident and despite his undeniable wingnutism (so what are Scabs and HALPERIN?!1), there was something called "VARIETY" in it. sLimus is like whassername (insert: Maureen DOWD)
from the NYT who "HATES EVERYBODY." He's a case study in his controlling the South and Western chip-on-the-shoulder against the East, uses a scapel to slice into his elite guests before they know what happened. An example: With Doris Kearns GOODWIN and her scholarly biography of LINCOLN, he asked whether she had read O'LOOFAH's LINCOLN book. Unsuspectingly, she contained her elite disdain for the non-scholarly thing with a "no" and he came in for the kill, asking her why O'LOOFAH's book was on the NYT best seller list for a year and hers wasn't. HaHAH.
Anyway, this morning the Scabs carnival crew were repeating their crap about RUBIO and P-Shrub cranking up a 2016 run, and it was like Campaign 2012 never ended, just morphed into 2016, and over and over. Clicked it over to sLimus, where the ugliness is no better but there is variety, some psychological intrigue, and laughs of the juvenile fun kind.

(31,464 posts)But you're generally right about Joe. If you're a morning drinker, you'll be totally in the bag by 9:00 when you play "When will Joe say 'When I was in Congress...'?" His show is just one big campaign ad for himself, complete with flowing flags in the background. They're hoping that one day he says something intelligent that can be used in a future campaign commercial. He used to even pretend he was an "Independent," then a "Libertarian," then finally just admitted he's always been a Republican. Bottom line is, he's a fucking joke.

(31,464 posts)If you only listen to Bill Press and Stephanie Miller and Rachel Maddow, you're no better off than a Fox Watcher. You're only receiving one side of the story. That's the only reason I can stomach Joe Scab. I don't tune in to hear "fair and balanced," I tune in to eavesdrop on the enemy.

(37,648 posts)a book being on the best seller list doesn't make it better than one not on the list.
A scholarly book will never sell as well as a lighter book written by a well known personality.
It sounds rude, what he said. Which is why I don't watch him. He also has some stoopid woman on his show pretending to offer opinions, but she usu. talks about music or some nonsense.
He also still has that regular...I forget the guy's name. Very racist, very rightwingnut. He's on not every day, but occasionally. Like his prior show.
I watch Morning Scabby, but sometimes flip to CNN/Soledad (which is usu. boring).

(1,925 posts)But the man said, reduce Defense spending and take on Health Care. Costs, specifically W Bush's agreement with Drug Companies..not to bargain for lower prices... He did acknowledge the power of the Drug/ Health Provvider lobby.
Don't know who the man was... unfortunately... Thought I might have dreamed it...

(70,700 posts)all the wingnut pollsters (KKKarl, Toesucker) who were so way out there in being wrong. I don't peek in there regularly, sometimes substitute the full *sleep* for the dozing/listening and mostly don't turn any of them on any more.

(42,770 posts)many were afraid to go on his show anymore. I personally think if the creepy producer, McGerk (sp?) wasn't on, IMUS could have been held in check more.
I don't get FBN.
Thanks for the update !!

(70,700 posts)as are HANNITY and BecKKK. I do O'LOOFAH and LIMBOsevic as opposition research, or rather O'LOOFAH more as a psychological study for his self-delusion, denial, and inferiority. LIMBOsevic for his dexterity in getting away with high crimes. I really can't take much of indulging in hearing those who agree with us and tell us what we want to hear and what we already know. Can't take SHARPTON and Ed, can admire Rachel when she's doing a fearless interview, and O'DONNELL is great but (previous reasons for NOT). Tweety has been my biggest study for 15 years, mostly to excoriate his previous incarnation and still not granting him full rehab graduation.
