The Milwaukee County DA should arrest Scott Walker even if he might not get a conviction
Cliff Notes:
Some of Walker's top aides were campaigning on county time (while Walker was Milwaukee County Exec)
Some were stealing from a veterans charity set up with the Milwaukee County Zoo
Some were trying to scrub documents related to maintenance issues with the county
At least one of his top donors illegally used his company and employees to funnel extra money to Walker's campaign.
Some of these people have been charged. Some have been convicted. Walker himself has not been charged, but during the sentencing of his latest convicted aide he was definitely implicated (he was CCed many emails regarding illegal BS and responded to a few).
I think the Milwaukee County DA needs to arrest Walker once he gets all the evidence he's after with the latest round of convictions. I think Walker will play the "I didn't do anything illegal, my aides did" and "I don't remember" game, and might skate on some technicalities, but unless the DA's case is extremely weak I think he should charge Walker. Unlike Clinton (who emerged from impeachment stronger), I think whether Walker ends up convicted or acquitted I think it will do major damage to his political aspirations. He was clearly at least breaking the law through his flunkies and people aren't going to like that even if he gets off on a technicality or loophole. A public trial will bring his BS to light - just like I think the recall even though he won it damaged him.
What say you?
