I refuse to use them and do my best to avoid stores that have them.

I have seen them being used at the Downtown Safeway but avoided them. Thankfully they have not installed them at my local Safeway as yet. I agree with the statement though, keep people employed!

My local grocery store has just remodeled, and they did not include a self checkout lane. I am grateful for that.

If we comply with the bullshit and use those machines, we won't have clerks at all anymore - just like the gas stations. Fuck, the PA turnpike is going to fire all of its toll booth personnel and go completely cash-free. We're not talking small potatoes here - that turnpike runs from Philly to Ohio. They already charge more for cash customers, but it's a major loss of jobs coming up. And I only use the ATM when the bank is closed. Otherwise I go to the counter.

Hell, I'm only 49 but I'm an old fart.
